Helsinki’s Kinopalatsi opened in 1998 and has the distinction of being Finland’s first multiplex cinema. The building was originally a 1,000-seat theater, the Metropol, which opened in 1939. Today, the Kinopalatsi has ten theaters and more than 1,600 seats.
